Tree Lake Members Listing Post on Cty “A”

You may have noticed the address listing on the west side of the lake  Tree Lake Assoc. members listing is getting a face lift This is at no cost to you, I just noticed the listing getting pretty shabby and names done all sorts of ways so I decide to replace the arrows with freshly painted ones and have placed plastic covers with vinyl letters and reflective tape on the ends. This should be finished in the spring. Sorry east side your on your own.

Septic Systems

Did you think once we got the septic systems check out and up to code we would be out of the woods?

I did, as I found out were not out of the woods yet!

septics are designed to remove bacteria, not nutrients, depending on the placement of the septics, they could be loading nutrients.

UWSP did ground water testing and you can find out more at the March 10 Meeting.

Help Needed & Needed Help

Canada Geese

The geese are another reason for keeping native vegetation buffers. Geese will go up into mowed lawns to feed.  They don't like tall vegetation at the shore because they can not see if there are predators. The more mowed lawns on a lake the more attractive the lake is to geese - no mowed lawns, no comfortable place for them to go up and feed. There are a few outfits around the state that will use dogs to scare geese away.  They claim if dogs chase them of the shoreline areas a  number of times during a critical time period, they will not come back. I have also heard of lakes using noise devices to scare the geese away.
